Camera Parts - Individual AssignmentLearn the important parts for shooting on your camera by completing the Camera Parts Assignment. For those shooting on Canon, complete the Canon Parts Assignment. For those shooting on Nikon, complete the Nikon Parts Assignment. Try completing as much as you can without looking up each part. Then, take a look at the manual for your camera - Nikon Manual or Canon Manual.

Camera Safety and Procedural Presentation
Camera safety is paramount to continuing to offer Photography at Riverside. In this presentation, you will learn the procedures for borrowing a school camera and how to use it safely. After this presentation, there is a Safety Procedures Test that you must attain at least 80% in order to borrow a camera. Any questions you get wrong, must be corrected in full answer and handed in. You can review the Procedural Presentation Notes prior to completing the quiz. The presentation is also recorded at the top of this page. Please Note: You must have handed in your signed Film/Photography Contract prior to borrowing any equipment.

Elements & Principles of Art
The elements and principles of art guide a photographer in structuring and designing a photograph. In order to learn about design review the basic definitions of The Elements & Principles of Art. Once you have an understanding of the Elements and Principles of Art, complete the Photo Search and Save Assignment. -
Tech Workshop
Learn the basics of setting up your camera before you do your first photo shoot. In the tech workshop, we will setup the camera and get comfortable with it's settings. You may view the Tech Workshop Notes here. -
Photo ID
Time to start your first assignment incorporating your camera and the computer. In the ID Card Assignment, you will create a custom ID Card by Photographing yourself (have a partner help you). You will then learn how to get the image onto the computer and format it in Photoshop by completing the ID Card Photoshop Format Tutorial. Hand in the finished assignment to the Media Design Digital Hand In Folder. Name your assignment correctly. Eg: PhotoID-BartS.jpg -
Photoshop Workflow
Workflow refers to the order and steps you follow in a task. The Photoshop Workflow is a requirement for proper preparation of your images for publishing and handing in. You may find the Photoshop Workflow Video Tutorial helpful in formatting your own image. -
Scavenger Hunt
In the Photo Scavenger Hunt, you will find a list of photos to capture. Try and get as many as you can in one hour. Your goal is 40 good photos! -
Photography Vocabulary Crossword
Check your unit 1 vocabulary by completing the Photography Crossword. When you have finished it, hand it in to the Digital Hand In Folder. Use our File Naming System please. Eg: PhotoXword-BartS.jpg. Use the Screen Capture Tutorial to help you with handing in this assignment. -
Double Exposure Project
Double Exposure is a creative way of combining images to create a new meaning. Double exposure combines two images; we will do the final editing in Photoshop. Read the Double Exposure Project outline to get started. To learn how to create a double exposure, use the Double Exposure Tutorial. video To finalize your images for handing in, you need to format it using the Photoshop Workflow Document. I have created a short Video Tutorial to guide you through the process as well - see number 4 above.
